After the opening day of the IFCA Foiling European Championships delivered spectacular action on the North Sea, the wind took a break on day two of the event.

After two races sailed in volatile and highly challenging conditions on Switzerland’s Lake Geneva, Eric Monnin’s SUI100 Duclop leads the International Six Metre Swiss Championships in the Open fleet.

Sunderland 2026 was probably the tightest and most open Streaker Nationals ever. At least six boats were still in close contention going into the final day, but it was Martin Penty from Beaver SC who held his nerve to win the final race.

Manuel Vlacich and Franco Deganutti, sailors from Società Vela Oscar Cosulich, Italy, have completed the circumnavigation of Sømmarøy, a Norwegian island located above the Arctic Circle, famous worldwide for having declared itself a “time-free zone.”

“The time on the boat, and the time on the water, has been the first time in the four years since my injuries, that I have felt more like that previous version of myself. We’re not talking about our injuries. We’re just people going for a sail.”

Day 3 of the 65th Long Beach Olympic Classes Regatta brought the qualifying series to a dramatic close, with the world’s best Formula Kite and iQFOiL athletes securing their positions for Thursday’s medal rounds.

Patience was the key on Day 2 of the 2026 Tornado World Championship as competitors waited ashore for the sea breeze to establish. With the wind proving slow to develop, the Race Committee displayed the “go flag” at 14:15, calling the fleet afloat.

Lake Neuchâtel was sparkling on Thursday morning, and the wind filled in to allow racing to start at 11.30. With sunshine and breeze the SSL 47 yachts were gleaming, we were all set for another cracking day.

The IFCA Foiling European Championships got under way in near-perfect conditions in St. Peter-Ording. On the opening day of competition, 65 athletes from 16 nations took to the waters of Ordinger Beach.

With two regattas now complete, the 2026 Classic Yacht Challenge Series is beginning to take shape. And with a regatta on the schedule every weekend for the rest of the summer, the competition is only expected to intensify.
