Strong winds and sunshine, with a storm passing through, the 4th day of Burnham Week 2025 saw fresh crews refill the ranks as the premier East Coast regatta goes on.

The B14s are heading to Mumbles in Wales for a rock and roll North Seavolution B14 National Championship. It looks like it could be a couple of fruity days to start with and then we’ll need to see what the weather gods throw our way come Sunday.

Overy Staithe held their annual open regatta over five days from 21 August. The event is always incredibly popular and this year saw the numbers taking part increase again, with a noticeable increase in junior participation.

Loch Earn Sailing Club was the venue for the sixth, and final, event of Sailability Scotland’s Challenger Traveller Series, which took place during the weekend 23-24 August alongside the club’s St Fillans Cup.

If you like sailing in windy weather, the Tuesday of Poole Week was a day to savour. Some love the excitement, the challenge, the satisfaction of a job well done if you get around the course, and the sense of exhilaration and relief.

On day one a strong northly wind greeted the sailors, blowing 15 knots gusting 20 knots, bringing with it large waves as they rolled in with tide.
