Day one of the Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta delivered perfect sailing conditions, with a steady Mistral wind of around 14 knots. At 12.05 p.m., the 100-foot Dubois yacht Nostromo led the fleet away right on schedule.

Christchurch Ledge Race (but not)
The forecast was not looking good to sail the Christchurch Ledge Race from some way out and so it proved. With about 3 knots and little prospect of an awful lot more, the Race Officer, Nick Hopwood, decided to delay for half an hour.

Due to the weather conditions encountered by the fleet during Leg 2 of La Solitaire du Figaro Paprec, between Vigo and Pornichet, the ETA of the leading competitors is now expected from late Thursday afternoon onwards.
