The Hadron H2 fleet held its Inland Championships on 16th and 17th May which was graciously hosted by Queen Mary Sailing Club. Coming into the event light wind specialist Ian Dawson, a serial Inland Champion, was hot favourite.

The International Flying Fifteen Class returned to Royal Torbay Yacht Club on the weekend of 16th-17th May for their Southern Area Championship, our first visit to this long-established club since 2008.

With the class splits now published for the Handicap divisions at the 2026 Jura Scottish Series, the north of Britain’s premier regatta, teams now have a good idea of the level of competition they will encounter on Loch Fyne.

The Solo fleet will be visiting Llandegfedd Reservoir this weekend and someone will come away as the P&B Welsh champion and the current entry list suggests there could be a new name engraved onto the trophy.

Although not the warmest weather that one can expect in May, and the breeze, particularly on Sunday was a bit fickle, the Redwings had two days of great sailing. The One-Designs just the Saturday which was a pity.

In preparation for the Fireball World Championship later in the year several of the top UK Fireball teams took the opportunity to take part in the RTYC open event and to take advantage of sailing at the venue.

The fourth annual Rhody Regatta on Saturday, May 30 is all about boat-on-boat racing and fundraising to benefit Meals on Wheels of Rhode Island (MOW).
