The Surf-Freestyle wingfoil discipline is one of the most spectacular in watersports, blending a hydrofoil board – a submerged fin with wings that lifts the rider above the water – with a handheld inflatable wing to harness the wind.

An excellent fleet of two dozen teams from across Finland participated in the 2025 Finnish J/70 National Championship in Mariehamn, Finland, hosted by the very capable RC/PRO team from Ålandska Segelsällskapet.

The last day of the Championships started with beautiful blue skies and glassy seas but with the promise of sea breezes later. The racing was postponed for an hour to allow the sea breeze to fill in.

Barry MacCartin and Conor Kinsella are the 2025 Fireball National Champions after six races at Tralee Bay SC, Fenit, Co Kerry over the weekend. Twenty-three Fireballs competed in a breezy event.

The top four teams in the Admiral’s Cup were using A+T wind sensors and parts. Together with victory in this year’s Vendée Globe on Macif, this is proving A+T’s reputation as the toughest and the best wind sensor available.

This year the total number of all boats competing in the Salcombe Gin sponsored Salcombe Yacht Club Regatta was a post-Covid record and the recent renaissance of the Salcombe Yawl fleet an astonishing and wondrous sight.

Ginger Boats Bass Week 2025 will be remembered as a true test of skill, stamina, and spirit. The week was dominated by fresh West-South-West winds, delivering a steady stream of lively, challenging, and often exhilarating sailing.

The Norfolk Week fleet uncovered boats bleary-eyed for day two as most competitors arrived before seven o’clock to set off for racing at seven-thirty.

The final day of the GP14 day was set to be a showdown between 5 boats who all mathematically had a shot at winning. In the driver’s seat was Barnham/Sexton on 10 points, but vulnerable with their discard of a 13.

The 2025 ILCA Senior European Championships & Open European Trophy is set to get under way at the Royal Gothenburg Yacht Club in Marstrand, Sweden with 11 Australians ready to take to the start line.
