Sometimes it’s hard to know who is having more fun, the children of the parents, but either way, word is spreading and Waldringfield Sailing Club welcomed more visitors than ever this bank holiday weekend.

What more could you want from a sailing Open Meeting? A dedicated, friendly and technically proficient organisation, a pleasingly full patch of inland water, good breeze and joyous but tough competition throughout the fleet.

On August 27th and 28th 2025, the St Vincent and the Grenadines Sailing Association hosted two thrilling days of racing at the Sailing Association’s High Performance Centre at Coconut Grove.

Team Holcim-PRB hold a narrow lead as the fleet approaches Bonifacio after a closely fought overnight battle.

Lanzarote Calero Sailing Team, Spain’s representative in the 44Cup, has wrapped up the World Championship in Scheveningen after four days of extreme racing on the North Sea, with gusts exceeding 35 knots and one of the toughest racecourses of the season.

Held at Felixstowe Ferry Sailing Club, an idyllic coastal venue in Suffolk, the championship combined competitive racing, challenging tidal conditions, and a strong social programme that brought together sailors, families, and spectators alike.

The last few days of August saw club members racing for three of their trophies. Whilst some of the club members who’d been there for Regatta had gone home there were nevertheless plenty to enjoy these three very special events.

The OGA held their second Gaffling Championship at Ullswater Yacht Club on Bank Holiday Monday 25th August.

The Northern ILCA circuit held the Northern Championship at Leigh & Lowton SC on the weekend of 30th and 31st August. The event was hosted as part of the club’s regatta weekend, sharing the water with Solutions, Wayfarers and a mixture of club boats.

The still very severe weather conditions in the Bay of Biscay, in terms of wind strength and sea conditions, on Tuesday 2nd September and Wednesday 3rd September, do not allow the GLOBE40 prologue to start before Thursday 4th September.
