While summer’s finale is never a great feeling, the season’s swan song featured a special time for women’s sailing in North America.

Dalgety Bay Sailing Club hosted the final round of the HD Sails-sponsored Scottish Solo Traveller Series on 3 October, with 11 boats in attendance from as far afield as St Mary’s Loch and Chanonry SC – separated by only 210 miles.

Dave Dennison and his team aboard Piranha captured the 2026 J/88 North American Championship, hosted by American Yacht Club in Rye, New York.

After a two-year gap, PEYC, once again, held the 707 Sprints Regatta on the 3-4 October: the last 707 UK Event of the year. 14 yachts booked for the event held in Inverkeithing Bay, just east of the iconic three Forth Bridges.

Australia’s largest Sail Expo is just days away and will bring together an impressive range of yachts, equipment and services at the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club, Newport, on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October.
