The annual Challenger Regatta at Loch Venachar Sailing Club took place during the weekend 2-3 August. It was the fifth event in Sailability Scotland’s Traveller Series. Helpfully, the off-duty instructors helped the sailors to build their boats.

With two days lost through strong winds, competitors and race management had been glued to their phones all morning, checking various weather apps for some kind of sign that a window of opportunity would miraculously appear over the east of Scotland.

Over the weekend in Aix-les-Bains, France, New Zealand’s Zofia Wells and Charlotte Handley won the RS Feva womens world championship, and finished second overall sailing in the Open event. The next womens crew finished 10th in the Open event.

The America’s Cup World Series, a multi-city series in the lead up to the 2013 America’s Cup regatta in San Francisco, came to Naples in 2012 and 2013 for two of the most memorable regattas.

Day four at the 29er World Championship Porto 2025 delivered just one race per fleet due to tricky light wind conditions — but that was enough to shake up the leaderboard!
